BirthdayBook 6.9.2 is the classic legendary five star program for storing and viewing all your birthdays, anniversaries, and other important events. It is fully compatible with OS 10.8 Sierra through OS 11.5 Big Sur (earlier versions can be obtained from me.) You can have it import birthdays automatically from Contacts and create custom birthday calendars in Calendar app as well as printing your own beautiful birthday calendars. It is used widely around the world and is translated in Dutch, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Danish, and Chinese. You can customize when and how you want the elegant, and fun, reminders to appear. Don't forget to leave a review if you love birthdayBook and be sure to contact me here with any concerns and suggestions. Note: there is a glitch in Mac OS finder which says birthdayBook is 32 bit but it is 100% 64 bit and works perfectly on the latest OS.
What is birthdayBook?
BirthdayBook is a great way to remember all your birthdays, anniversaries and other repeating yearly events. Some people use it to also remember memorials, historical events, even as a reminder app to pay their taxes and other repetitive chores! I initially create birthdayBook as a way to remember to send cards a week ahead to family in the UK. BirthdayBook is unique ( and perhaps old-fashioned) in that it is just a simple list of all the upcoming birthdays and events which gives you time to think ahead and plan that special gift or card to send.
Trouble Shooting birthdayBook
Important! Be sure to make backups of your birthdays and events. Go to the birthdayBook File Menu > Create a backup and save it somewhere you remember.
BirthdayBook is generally trouble free though occasionally issues arise.
I updated from and old version and my events aren't there!
This is because birthdayBook changed the archive format at one point. You can contact me and I will send you an older version to use to transfer the data from the really old version to the newest.
My data has disappeared!
This happens very rarely often because of some crash or updating of the OS. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do unless you have a backup of your data which I always recommend. To backup birthdayBook data go to the File Menu > Create a backup. Sometimes a user upgrades their system or migrates to a new machine and the data archive can't be found. If you have a general backup of your data you can find the birthday archive file here.
/Users/homeFolder/Library/Containers/com.robdutoit.birthdayBook/Data/Library/Application Support/Birthdaybook
You will find the birthdays.archive file there as well as reminders.archive. You can copy those somewhere like your desktop and then open birthdayBook and go to File Menu > Restore from backup and select the birthday.archive  file. Alternately you can move those to the same folder path as in the backup above but on your current drive.
